Entry Level USSF Referee Course (Grade 9)

The USSF Entry Level Grade 9 Referee Course is to become an Assistant Referee. Grade 9 is the level of the referee, not a school grade. The minimum age to referee is 14 for the LI Junior and NY Club leagues, but you can take the class if you are younger and referee in your club. No experience necessary.

Assistant Referees earn $25-$40 per game depending on the duration & level of the game.

The cost of the course is $175, which includes the uniform.

A Mandatory Parent’s meeting is held the first night of the class and last approximately 60 minutes to go over the program and for you to ask questions.

There is a written exam at the end of the course. Passing score is 80% or better. If you do not pass, you have 1 year to retake future courses or just retake the exam at no charge.
